CeBIT: Assistant for AD takeover and UCS operating mode in Windows domains

CeBIT: Assistant for AD takeover and UCS operating mode in Windows domains

Univention will be presenting two new UCS features at CeBIT this year:

The AD Takeover Assistant, which will make it even easier to replace an Active Directory domain with UCS.

By means of a graphical interface, the assistant guides the user through the whole process step by step. At the end of the process, the Microsoft Active Directory server will be switched off, all the relevant data and rights will have been transferred to UCS and the Active Directory domain will continue to be operated by UCS.

For those users who want to continue using their Windows environment whilst employing solutions like Open-Xchange, Zarafa or ownCloud, UCS will offer a new operating mode. This convenient feature will make it possible to operate UCS as part of an existing Windows domain, while the App Center allows integration and management of numerous further applications at any time.
